Welcome to Wolf Creek Photography
My name is Kim Wilson. I live in Appomattox, VA out in the country with my wonderful family. We have one big Golden Retriever, and four hungry horses.
Photography has always been a form of expression for me. Ever since I was in High School, I enjoyed seeing life through the lens of a camera. It seemed to capture what I was feeling about a particular scene or moment. What words can’t compose, a mere photo can.
I started developing my “hobby” after winning a national photography contest in 1994. I began shooting for “others” that seemed to appreciate what I saw doing family shots, weddings, and some commercial work. I’ve been published in several magazines, but mostly I just enjoy shooting life as it unfolds all around us.
My favorite studio is the great outdoors. I just don’t think you can compete with God’s handiwork. When the proper setting is used for the shoot desired, it’s just right. I try to balance the setting to the person(s) I am shooting so everyone is relaxed, and natural. My goal is to make your photos reflect your true character and project the emotions you are striving for.
I use mostly digital now, although I still have the old film ready! I use a wonderful software program allowing me to transform any image to black and white, lightly colored, or both! I use a nice compliment of filters when I feel a photo calls for it. You will be amazed at how a simple photo can take on a whole new feeling just by adding a few magic touches.
So browse through the site, and feel free to contact me. I do this because I truly LOVE it. I honestly believe that should be the main drive for any photographer. When it just becomes a job, then you need to find another job. Your memories are too important to trust to just anyone, I hope you can trust them to me. God bless! Kim
